Children and young adults with disabilities will be provided with free leisure discount cards from West Sussex Country Council.
The council has teamed up with the charity Amaze to provide these youngsters with discounted days out.
The card will enable families to save money on trips to the cinema, restaurants and sporting facilities, thus encouraging children to do more in their town or city.
Cabinet member for children Cllr Peter Evans said: ‘We know that families with disabled children often feel they can’t afford, or aren’t made to feel welcomed at, mainstream leisure venues.
‘We are committed to changing that in West Sussex.
‘The card is a win-win situation, as families will have more opportunities to access a range of fun activities.’
The council aims to have registration for the card complete by the start of 2016.
