Discover the story of Hampshire’s treasures

HIDDEN treasures from the county’s past will be discussed with history enthusiasts.

Rob Webley is Hampshire County Council’s finds officer.

He is in charge of all archaeological artefacts discovered in the county which legally have to be declared to the authorities.

This includes discoveries stumbled upon by members of the public and those with metal detectors.

Mr Webley will give an illustrated talk to Emsworth Maritime and Historical Trust members.

The trust runs Emsworth Museum, in North Street.

The talk is on February 20 at 7.30pm at the Mountford Rooms, Emsworth Community Centre, Havant Road.

Admission is £1 for members and £2 for non-members.

For details go to emsworthmuseum.co.uk or call 01243 373780.
