LIVES could be saved on the high street thanks to the installation of a crucial medical device.
A disused telephone box in Havant has been transformed to house a defibrilator, thanks to a partnership between Hampshire Constabulary, Havant Borough Council and local businesses.
The mayor of Havant, Cllr Faith Ponsonby, unveiled the device at the Greywell Precinct in Leigh Park alongside Anna and Alan Morgan, whose daughter Sarah died last year following a cardiac arrest.
Mr and Mrs Morgan raised the majority of funding for the defibrilator, and are continuing to collect money to buy more defibrillators for the area.
They are also raising money in aid of the North Harbour Community Responders volunteering service.
Mrs Morgan said: ‘We could not be happier with how this project went. The more awareness and money we raise, the better.’
