AN exhibition at Hilsea Lido this weekend is a good chance to dive into the pool’s past.

The heritage weekend, which is being hosted by the Hilsea Lido Pool for the People organisation, will lay bare the history of the pool from when it opened in 1935.

Vice-chairwoman of the lido trust Helen Downing-Emms said: ‘The exhibition this year includes the work that has taken place during the past 12 months, showing how the £50,000 received from Sport England has been used in the re-commissioning of the pool and the plant room.’

Visitors will have the chance to wander around the grounds surrounding the main pool.

The exhibition will take place today and tomorrow between 1pm and 4pm and is free of charge.
