HUNDREDS of hardened athletes descended upon Portsmouth to take part in an event that tests your running, cycling and swimming abilities.
Cycle firm Wiggle, along with Portsmouth City Council, hosted the second triathlon to be held in the city.
More than 500 people pounded the streets of the seafront.
And roads near to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard were closed so cyclists could complete the second element of the challenge, which included passing through the naval base.
Participants took the Solent sea and swam to complete the challenge.
People had the chance to take part in three different levels of the sporting challenge.
The Olympic distance covered 1,500m swimming, 40km running and then a 10km cycle.
The sprint distance was 50m swimming, 20km running, and 5km cycling.
There was also the option to carry out a relay of all three events.
First in the Olympic category was Colin Dixon (pictured), with a time of two hours, six minutes and 37.5 seconds.
