FIREFIGHTERS were called to an area of gorse which was found on fire at a beach by a dog walker.
One crew from Fareham attended the incident at the end of Cliff Road, Hill Head, past the harbour and a row of beach huts.
The crew arrived at 6pm on Monday.
Firefighters say getting access to the blaze was extremely difficult, as the incident was so remote, so it took them an hour-and-a-half to put it out.
The fire crew had to extend the engine’s hose the whole 390ft to reach the gorse blaze.
And because there was no water access point, they had to go back to fill up the truck before returning to the incident a second time.
