Doing it for Pudsey

ON a night of variety there was one thing that stayed the same – the audience’s huge enjoyment and the fundraising for Children in Need.

Local artists, bands, dancers, comedians and celebrities came together at the King’s Theatre in Southsea to help raise money for the charity, which holds its annual fundraising day today.

The event, co-ordinated by Eastney Cellars’ promotions manager Steve Pitt, raised a whopping £5,290.90 for the charity.

Groups and organisations added their fundraising totals on the night, with Kenwood DeLonghi handing over a cheque on stage for £2,085, the Portsmouth Warriors cheerleaders giving £257, the Bedhampton Girl Guides adding a £170 donation, and even young Jordan Greenwood, who cycled to the theatre in his pyjamas, added £22.

The theatre’s Sandra Smith said: ‘It was a fantastic evening, everyone said how good it was, and huge thanks should go to all the acts who gave up their time to do this for Children in Need.’
