TV Licensing is reminding pensioners they will be entitled to a free licence on their 75th birthday.

There are currently more than 7,100 free TV licences in force in Portsmouth – and with scores of people set to turn 75 this year, TV Licensing is encouraging people to claim the concession online or by phone.

Janet Morrison, chief executive of charity Independent Age, said: ‘Many older people live on very limited incomes, so the free television licence that is available to people aged 75 and over is a really valued concession. We urge all people over 75 to remember to apply for their free TV licence.’
