PEOPLE are being asked to donate their old hearing aids for children in developing nations.

Specsavers Hearing Centre Fareham is collecting donations for Sound Seekers – a charity which helps people who are deaf or hard of hearing in poor countries. The charity will recondition and reprogramme the hearing aids to give to deaf people in poverty.

Sonya Shellien, hearcare director at the store, said: ‘We are extremely lucky in the UK to have access to such robust hearing healthcare programmes. Charities like Sound Seekers are providing vital care to those who are not as fortunate.’

Hearing aids can be donated at the store in West Street.
