VOLUNTEERS and festive donations are needed to make a Christmas Day lunch a success.

More than 100 guests and volunteers are expected to sit down together for a traditional three-course meal at the fifth annual Fareham Christmas Day Lunch.

The lunch, which is run by Christians Together in Fareham and Community Action Fareham, is held for people who would otherwise be spending the day alone.

Jennie Romicheva from Community Action Fareham said: ‘What makes the day extra special are the small gifts donated by local people and businesses that we send home with each guest.’

The organisers are appealing for donations of festive food and stocking fillers.

A shopping list of suggestions is available from 163 West Street Fareham, which will be taking donations until December 19.
