PART of the A27 has been closed due to an accident.

Police have closed the road eastbound at the Eastern Road junction after the accident at 2.40pm today.

Two cars collided and one patient was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.

The road has been closed to allow debris to be cleared from the road.

Another collision was also reported at 2.14pm at junction 2 of the A3(M) at Horndean.

One patient was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital whilst a number of others were treated at the scene for scrapes and bruises.

Motorists have been facing huge delays on the A27 and the A3(M).

Diversions are in place for drivers around the Eastern Road.
