IT WAS a busy night for the French coastguard after three major incidents on a Portsmouth-bound ferry.
The first casualty on the MV Cap Finistere, which sailed from Santander, in Spain, was a crew member who had a heart attack at about 3am on Friday.
A doctor accompanied the helicopter crew who winched the man up and took him to hospital in France.
At 10am a passenger had heart attack when the ferry was just off the coast of Guernsey.
The same doctor and helicopter crew came to pick the man up and take him to hospital.
At the same time a man had to be restrained after threatening to jump overboard.
He was met by police when the ferry eventually docked in Portsmouth.
A Brittany Ferries spokesman described the night as ‘unusual’.
