TODAY The News is launching a great competition for all the youngsters out there to demonstrate how much they love their mum.
We want children from across the region to put pen, pencil, paints – or whatever else they choose – to paper and draw us the best picture they can of their mum to mark Mother’s Day.
The annual day this year falls on March 30.
And there will be some fantastic prizes too for the winning entry.
The winning picture will receive a £25 gift voucher from Smyths Toys for the artist.
There will also be a fabulous prize for the winner’s mother, to be revealed closer the time.
So, it’s time to get creative and show us what your mum means to you with the best drawing you can do.
Mark Waldron, editor of The News, said: ‘There are so many mothers out there who work hard.
‘Raising children is a full-time job in itself, but many mums also have to work to help provide for their families too.
‘We wanted to do something for all those mums – and for all those kids who love their mums.
‘It’s lovely to be able to give them a bit of recognition and I hope this competition will inspire children everywhere.
‘Our aim is then to share these pictures with the rest of you.’
He added: ‘This is your chance to get creative and draw or paint the best picture you can of your mum and send it to us.’
The competition is open to all children in The News’ circulation area, aged 12 and under.
All the entries will be published in The News on March 29, when we will be inviting our readers to vote and pick the winner.
The closing date for entries is March 16, so you have plenty of time to start thinking about your drawing.
Unfortunately we are not able to return any entries.
*Find the entry form and details on page 46 of The News today. We will be publishing it again throughout February and early March
