A DRIVER had to be cut out of their car after ploughing into the motorway’s central reservation.

With lots of surface water around, the blue Ford Fiesta lost control on the M27 westbound near junction 12 at about 5.15pm.

Traffic queues have built up as the two outside lanes had to be shut while emergency services deal with the incident.

A crew from Fareham fire station cut away the roof of the car and the driver was removed on a spinal board.

A police spokesman said: ‘Traffic is flowing through but the sheer weight of traffic is giving quite a tailback.

‘Hopefully it will be reopened very soon.’
