A DRIVER from Gosport died after crashing into a brick-built water pump on a rural road.

The man, aged in his 60s, was driving a Vauxhall Corsa when it left the road and crashed into the structure.

An air ambulance went to the B2141 Chilgrove Road, near Lavant, West Sussex, at about 3.20pm on Thursday.

The driver was flown to Southampton General Hospital but died from his injuries. He has not yet been named.
