THE driver of this car had a lucky escape today when she walked away from the precariously-balanced convertible.

The woman was driving out of Queen Alexandra Hospital’s car park, in Cosham, when she lost control and the Mercedes skidded down some steps.

Fortunately no one was on them at the time and she managed to climb out of the car to safety.

Police have cordoned off the area while they wait for a recovery firm to remove the vehicle.

Brett Butler, from Cosham fire station, was called to the scene at 11.20am today. He said: ‘Luckily no one was injured and the car was just a bit unstable’.

Police are treating the incident as an accident.
