North End stabbing attack: Man jailed for 19 years for attempted murder

Have your say

A motorist has died after he lost control of his car and it smashed into a lamp post last night.

Police are seeking witnesses to the fatal crash, on the A29 at Shripney, which happened just after 11pm.

The 23-year-old man from Bognor was driving a white Honda Civic saloon when it left the road and hit a lamp post and then smashed into a home’s brick wall.

Medics pronounced the driver dead at the scene

No other vehicle or person was involved.

The road remained closed in both directions overnight whilst the scene was examined and repairs were made to the house.

Police warned the procedures would affect early morning rush hour traffic.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: ‘We appreciate the patience of drivers while this incident is being safely dealt with. Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact us via 0845 60 70 999 quoting Operation Leander.’
