A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a crash near Chichester has been bailed by police.
Jasmine Elkasmi, 16, of Carlton Avenue, Bognor, was killed when a Vauxhall Corsa she was a passenger in rolled on to its side on the A285 at Halnaker, a hamlet near Chichester, at about 6.45am on Saturday.
Two other 16-year-old girl passengers were seriously injured in the single-car crash. The driver, from Chichester, was arrested and questioned by police. He was also quizzed in relation to causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was bailed until December 2.
Meanwhile, hundreds of people have gathered around Bognor’s pier to release Chinese lanterns to pay tribute to Jasmine.
