ALMOST 4,000 workers have signed up to a county’s car-share scheme since it began a decade ago.

Liftshare Week runs until tomorrow and highlights savings for commuters.

West Sussex County Council is behind the successful car-sharing scheme – westsussexcarshare.com – in partnership with UK network Liftshare.

Among the businesses to sign up is Goodwood-based car manufacturer Rolls-Royce. Over 260 Rolls-Royce staff have registered their journeys on the website.

County councillor Pieter Montyn believes that car-sharing is one initiative to help relieve the pressure on the local environment.
