FIREFIGHTERS were called in after dust caused a smoke alarm to go off at a flat in Broadacre Place, Fareham yesterday.

A neighbour called Hampshire Fire and Rescue about 9.45pm after hearing the noise and Fareham Fire Station sent one crew to take a look.

No-one was at home, so a firefighter had to get in through a window.

He blew in the alarm to clear the dust, and left a note to tell the occupant what had happened.
