THE Eclipse Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) that connects Fareham and Gosport through a dedicated busway celebrates its second birthday next week.

The purple E1 and E2 Eclipse services, operated by local bus company First, have carried more than 3.3m passengers with some vehicles clocking up 87,000 miles along the route

To celebrate the anniversary First is holding a birthday breakfast for customers on Wednesday at Fareham Bus Station.

The busway runs between Redlands Lane and Tichborne Way along an old railway line.
