A POPULAR children’s club will be celebrating its 15th birthday tomorrow.

King’s Kids was set up by a group of volunteers from King’s Church, in Elm Grove, Southsea.

The club aims to give children in the Somers Town area a chance to gain confidence and explore different activities.

Gareth Benton, minister of the church, said: ‘The club has been incredibly popular with more than 100 kids attending every week.

‘Some of the children who used to come to King’s Kids years ago have their children coming along.’

Tomorrow a celebration is taking place at Portsmouth High School, Kent Road, Southsea, from 11am.

Current and former members of the club plus families are invited.
