BUDDING young actors put on a spectacular swashbuckling show for their parents and friends.

Pupils from Alverstoke Junior School in Gosport performed a play at Thorngate Halls.

The after-school drama club put on a production of Pirates of the Curry Bean, a funny pirate-themed musical.

The cast was made up of 65 pupils and performed in front of 600 people over the course of three performances.

Rose Cain, the school’s head of music and drama said: ‘I was delighted with the dedication, hard work and enthusiasm shown by all the children who took part.’

The young actors were supported by sound and lighting engineers plus a live band made up of former pupils.
