Albino hedgehogs and raccoons go to Waterlooville school

PUPILS got to handle some weird and wonderful creatures – including a smelly skunk.

The youngsters at Waterloo School, in Warfield Avenue, Waterlooville, came face to face with animals from around the world as part of their natural world topic.

Peculiar Encounters brought in raccoons, skunks and even albino hedgehogs.

Lewis Gaston, a learning support assistant at the school, said: ‘They absolutely loved it.

‘Some of them were a bit wary but most of them couldn’t wait to handle the creatures – even though some of them were a bit smelly.’

The school is holding its Christmas fair on December 15.

It takes place from 1.30pm to 4pm and entry is 50p.
