TWO pub apprentices have qualified after a year of training while working.
Stacey Harber and Jason Orme, from the Cocked Hat in Privett Road, Gosport, received their qualification at a ceremony at Alton Towers, in Staffordshire.
They spent the year learning on the job, finally earning the Food & Beverage Service Apprenticeship. The qualification is worth five GCSEs.
Spirit Pub Company employs them.
Stacey said: ‘I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the apprenticeship, being able to learn while I work was definitely a key draw for me, allowing me to learn new skills while also building on my practical experience.
‘I’m looking forward to taking on my next apprenticeship and continuing my development.’
They won praise from Mark Peters, head of learning and development at Spirit.
He said: ‘It takes commitment, dedication and determination to complete an apprenticeship and Stacey and Lee have shown that they have what it takes to progress.’
