IT WAS a meeting of political might when a youth parliament member met her MP.

Chloe Shield, 14, of Bridgemary School in Gosport, met the town’s MP Caroline Dinenage to discuss the youngster’s plans.

Chloe fought off tough competition to be elected deputy member of the Youth Parliament for Gosport, Fareham and Havant, along with member Thomas Morhouse, 16.

The pair won polls in secondary schools to be given their positions and have big plans for youth issues.

Chloe is keen to connect older and younger generations in the town and beyond.

She said: ‘I’m keen to do all I can to change our area for the better and would like to follow in Caroline’s footsteps, one day.’

Ms Dinenage added: ‘It was fantastic to meet Chloe, I was particularly impressed with her energy and enthusiasm and she’s a very determined young lady.’
