AN AWARD-WINNING children’s author visited a city school to help inspire them to write.

Guy Bass visited Copnor Junior School to talk to pupils in Years 3 and 4 and to launch his new book called The Legend of Frog.

Jo Munt, Year 3 year leader, said: ‘It’s great for children to have access to authors and to understand that they too can aspire to become one.

‘It suddenly gives the children a purpose for their writing and an understanding of why writing and reading is important.

‘Meeting authors and listening to their inspirations and stories helps to inspire ideas for their own stories, especially as Year 3 have just started writing their own adventure stories.’
