HORNDEAN Technology College has been awarded Lead School status for its provision for more able students.

The Waterlooville-based school is one of only eight secondary schools in the county to achieve this award.

Carol Roberts, the school’s gifted and talented co-ordinator, said it was a good achievement for the school.

‘We are very proud that our hard work and dedication to supporting G&T students has been recognised and we look forward to working with other schools in order to raise standards and benefit pupils across the county,’ she said.

‘This achievement only strengthens our ethos at Horndean Technology College, that we really are ‘Achieving Excellence’.’
