THESE youngsters dressed to impress when they ran the Sport Relief Mile in the sun.

Almost 200 pupils and staff at Bidbury Juniors in Bedhampton ran three laps around the Havant Rugby Club field to show their support for the charity that supports the world’s poorest people living.

Sponsorship is still being counted, but pupils hope to raise more than £1,000.

Rebecca Kent, who organised the event, said: ‘It was a great day. Everyone was getting cheers as they ran their mile.

‘I’m staggered at how much money the pupils raised.

‘It hit home when I told them about the water shortages in other parts of the world – where people travel a mile every day to get water we access easily.’

She added: ‘It’s the first time we’ve done the sponsored mile and we’ll definitely be putting it on again next year.’
