PUPILS in Havant are celebrating after they won £100 for their school by getting creative with rubbish.
The children from Front Lawn Primary Academy were invited to enter an art competition organised by JDP, a stockist of civil and drainage products for the building industry, which has a local branch in Havant.
The ‘Four Seasons’ competition focused on waste and recycling and children were asked to create a landscape collage of one of the four seasons out of recyclable materials.
The school was chosen as a runner-up.
Chris Kettle, from the school, said: ‘The JDP competition is one way we can introduce the environmental topic into the National Curriculum and, in doing so, help to develop a creative learning environment for all pupils involved.
‘The children were really engaged and enjoyed working on the topic very much, and are really proud of the team’s winning collage.’
