SINGER Craig David and Olympic athletes Andy Turner and Tom Lancashire were interviewed by a group of pupils who put out their own news broadcast in a day.

Twelve pupils from Cams Hill School in Fareham conducted interviews and edited and broadcast news ranging from the chats with celebrities to reports on major stories such as the disappearance of nightclubber Sian O’Callaghan, whose body was found this week.

English teacher Allison Reeves supervised the BBC News Schools Report project, which can be viewed on the school website. She said: ‘I was extremely impressed by the level of professionalism.

‘Everyone took responsibility for their own roles and they worked brilliantly under pressure.

‘It was tough – news stories had to be put together in two minutes.’
