SIXTEEN employers will be offering jobs at a recruitment fair.

The Journey Back to Work event will be held on September 15 at Cascades Shopping Centre in Portsmouth.

The annual event, which runs from 10am until 3.30pm, is run by JobCentre Plus in partnership with Portsmouth City Council.

Leone Hill, account manager from Portsmouth’s JobCentre, said it will give people the chance to talk to retail and hospitality employers face-to-face about seasonal jobs.

A separate Opportunities Fair, supported by the JobCentre, will be held on September 28 from 10am until 12.30pm.

The fair, at the Hillside and Wymering Centre, in Cheltenham Road, will give people in Paulsgrove and Wymering the chance to talk to various employers.

Ms Hill said the centre had also worked with 14 young people through its Get into Engineering programme, run by the Prince’s Trust and BAE Systems, where participants spent two weeks with BAE Systems and trying out a range of different job roles.
