WRITING stars have been given the chance to scoop a cash prize by entering a national journalism competition.
The National Council for the Training of Journalists launched its Stars of the Future contest to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Young journalists are being encouraged to enter a story of around 200 words on an issue in the Portsmouth area, which has not been reported on previously, containing an original quote, to be in with a chance to win.
The successful entry will be published and put forward to the national ﬁnal where the entrant will win £250.
The News is also offering our winner the chance to spend a day in the newsroom and meet the team.
Applicants must be aged 16 to 18 and have until May 27 to submit entries.
