A PSYCHOLOGIST from the University of Portsmouth has been awarded a grant of £10,000 by the British Psychological Society.

Dr Bridget Waller received the grant as she established the world’s first cognitive study centre for a type of rare monkey called sulawesi crested macaques in partnership with experts at Marwell Wildlife.

By interacting with computer touchscreens the monkeys give scientists a window into their memory, communication skills and emotions.
