A CATERING student has been selected for an exclusive chefs programme.
Stuart Turner, 19, from South Downs College, was one of the lucky 13 to be selected for the Exclusive Hotels Chefs’ Academy, a two-year career development programme.
Stuart will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the industry’s top culinary professionals and work in Exclusive’s five-star properties.
Some of these include Michael Wignall, the head chef of the two Michelin-starred Latymer at Pennyhill Park; Richard Davies, the executive chef at the Michelin-starred Bybrook at the Manor House; and current MasterChef: The Professionals winner, Steven Edwards, who is head chef at the Camellia at South Lodge.
Jacqui Smith, head of catering, hospitality and tourism at South Downs, said: ‘Stuart Turner is an excellent student who has just completed his Level 3 Professional Diploma in Pastry and Confectionery.
‘He always went the extra mile, had a mature approach to his studies, was very personable and took great pride in all he did.
‘We all wish him luck for this exciting opportunity.’
