SEAFARERS will board HMS Victory to celebrate the Duke of Edinburgh’s 90th birthday.

The UK’s leading maritime charity has invited 90 VIPs to enjoy a coffee morning on board the famous ship in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

June 10 is Nautical Friday, a day of corporate and community fundraising for Seafarers UK, with events going on across the country.

It takes place during Seafarers Awareness Week, from June 6 to June 12.

The week’s aim is to draw attention to the welfare needs of seafarers from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Merchant Navy and fishing fleets.

Seafarers UK is an umbrella charity that gives grants to other charities, and Prince Philip has been its president since 1979.

The coffee morning will take place on June 10.

For information about other events taking place during the week visit or call the charity on 020 7932 0000.
