IT’S been a walk in the park for kids from a Chernobyl charity.
Fourteen underprivileged children aged 10-12 visited Fratton Park.
The members of the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline charity were taken on a tour of the stadium and had pictures taken running up the tunnel singing ‘Play up Pompey’.
They also learnt how to conduct interviews and commentate on football action. Rob Baker, vice chairman for Portsmouth and Hayling Island’s link to the charity, said: ‘The children had a fantastic day with the PFC team and will take away many fond memories. We would like to thank the study centre team for their hard work.’
Comic strips of their day were made at the club’s study centre. The trip was part of a four-week break for the children, who were staying with host families before going home this week.
