AN ACADEMIC set to join the University of Chichester this year will appear on BBC Radio 4 on Monday to discuss the ‘death of socialism’.

Alwyn Turner, who will be an associate lecturer in history, is set to share a platform with Labour MP Tristram Hunt on Start The Week at 9am.

Turner is the author of Things Can Only Get Bitter: The Lost Generation of 1992, about why people born a few years either side of 1960 were turned off politics.
