A music group for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers is celebrating after being nominated for a national award for its work with under-fives.
More than 650 children and babies attend Melody Tots music, singing, movement and playtime sessions in Fareham, Stubbington and Portsmouth.
And now people can vote for Melody Tots in the best local activity for under-fives category in the What’s On 4 Little Ones Awards 2016 at whatson4littleones.co.uk/award-voting.asp.
This is a national award rewarding the very best activity providers, classes and places to go. Voting will close on Wednesday, May 11 and the winners will be announced on June 23.
Mother-of-two Ruth Morgan turned her love of music into a business opportunity by creating Melody Tots in June 2014.
When she started there were two sessions a week and that has now expanded to seven sessions and the launch of Melody Tots parties.
Its popularity has been growing and the business has just reached 650 likes on Facebook. To celebrate this, Melody Tots is running a competition for free places and a family photo session, including five digital images with Lucy Eloise Photography.
Ruth said: ‘We provide a fun, musically- based, supportive environment where parents, carers and children can revel in the rhythms and sounds of familiar music and nursery rhymes whilst enjoying relaxed chatter with other children, parents and carers. Melody Tots offers a free first taster session so families can see for themselves what we’re all about.
‘I have two under-fives of my own so it’s a real juggling act but I am thrilled and proud that Melody Tots continues to be enjoyed by so many children and babies.’
Melody Tots has sessions at Tesco Fareham’s community room (Mondays and Thursdays), Crofton Guiding Centre, Stubbington (Tuesdays) and St Mary’s Church, Fratton (Wednesdays).
