TEACHERS are being sought to join a recruitment event in Portsmouth next week.

Portsmouth Teaching School Alliance, in conjunction with Portsmouth City Council and other organisations, is hosting the event on Saturday, January 16, at the Land Rover BAR headquarters in East Street.

Teachers – whether experienced or newly-qualified – will be able to meet a range of schools, listen to speeches and join a bus tour of the city.

Councillor Neill Young, cabinet member for children and education said: ‘Good teachers are important as they can inspire the next generation and help them to realise their ambitions.

‘Portsmouth is a great place to live and work, we have openings at schools across the city and there’s support and help every step of the way.

‘Becoming a teacher means you can make a real difference to young people and help them fulfil their potential.’
