SCHOOLS and other educational providers gathered to mark the launch of a hub for teaching excellence.

Havant Sixth Form College invited primary and secondary schools and other educational providers to the launch of the college becoming a Building Learning Power Centre.

Building Learning Power is a teaching strategy and encourages positive learning qualities, in order to inspire students to be successful.

The launch was led by Steve Watson, principal consultant of the Learning Organisation.

Jo Young, A-level geography teacher, said: ‘We are excited after a successful launch, evidenced by participants already trying and sharing new ideas and asking for more information.’

Sylvia Wear is the assistant principal. She said: ‘Teaching and Learning is pivotal to our learners’ success.

‘Building our students’ learning power will enhance their performance in readiness for university and their overall confidence in the world of work.’
