A FAREHAM school has had a cash bonus after receiving £360 for teaching Christianity in Religious Education.

Henry Cort Community College received the cash from The Jerusalem Trust. The fund is open to all secondary schools in the UK, although priority is usually given to non-church state secondary schools.

The Jerusalem Trust aims to advance the Christian religion and to promote Christian organisations.

Phil Munday, principal said: ‘We are delighted to receive a grant to improve our RE resources. The Henry Cort Community College is a non-church state secondary school although we embrace our relatively recent affiliation to the Church of England. We have used this generous donation to buy some much-needed new textbooks.’
