A WORLD-RENOWNED composer, pianist and conductor will be working with girls from Portsmouth High School.
Dr Stephen Montague is the composer and conductor of Dark Sun, a multi-layered musical work commemorating the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
It will be performed at the school’s Gala Concert on Wednesday, February 5 at St Thomas’s Cathedral.
George Tinsley, director of music at the school, said: ‘This concert will be a thrilling opportunity to bring together girls from Year 5 through sixth form.
‘They will be performing challenging music under the baton of a renowned composer while learning about history and the importance of the pursuit of peace in our time.’
