A FORMER chairwoman of Ofsted will be speaking at a conference about academy schools.

Zenna Atkins, who was head of Ofsted for four years, is a regular speaker on education, innovation, CSR, leadership and governance.

She will be giving her overview of the current educational challenges for the sector at the one-day conference on Tuesday, June 18.

The conference is being organised by law firm Blake Lapthorn and will focus on providing practical advice and guidance on a range of significant legal issues facing academy schools.

Elizabeth Davis, partner and head of the schools team at Blake Lapthorn, said: ‘With the opportunity to convert to academy status now widened to potentially apply to virtually all maintained schools, interest in the legal issues facing academy schools is strong.

‘This conference will be highly relevant to leadership teams both in established academy schools and those considering conversion.’

The conference takes place at Blake Lapthorn’s Southampton office and is open to all across the area. For more details or to reserve a place email event@bllaw.co.uk.
