YOUNGSTERS at a special school braved Cosham High Street in weird and wonderful outfits to help raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
The sporting 11 to 16-year-olds from The Harbour School in Cosham dressed up in a range of costumes including inflatable suits and Captain Jack Sparrow gear while shaking collection buckets.
The day was in aid of Children in Need.
They took part in a range of sponsored activities in their classes, including guessing the number of sweets in a jar, treasure hunts and ducking a foam mallet.
They raised a total of £484.25.
Assistant headteacher Allen Hartshorn said: ‘Our pupils were absolutely fantastic and to think that just 30 young people managed to raise hundreds of pounds is a great achievement.
‘Walking along Cosham High Street dressed up in very amusing clothes just goes to show how committed they are to good causes.
‘We are very proud of them and are planning a special cheque presentation.’
