AN INTREPID team of nursery staff will be doing a parachute jump to raise money for two excellent local causes.

Sandra Mugridge, 43, Rachel Smith, 29, Kirsty Beckles, 21, and Carol Horn, 18, from Cowplain Day Nursery have already raised £2,000 in sponsorship for the nail-biting drop at Old Fareham Airfield on June 18.

The jump is in aid of West Sussex charity Dreams Come True that grants terminally ill children their last wish and Joey’s Field at Padnell Infants who are fundraising to build an outdoor classroom for the whole community to use.

Mrs Mugridge, owner of the nursery, said: ‘I have a checklist of things I want to do and parachuting is one of them.

‘I thought it would be a great idea to bring some of my colleagues on board to raise money.

‘Our children use Joey’s Field and we’re so that was an obvious choice, and we wanted to another charity where we knew the money would go far. We’re terrified about the jump but it will be worth it.’
