FIVE-YEAR-OLD Danielle Graham has a passion for books – and has been named one of her school’s star readers.
The bright youngster won a book for reading every day and making excellent progress with her literacy skills at Leesland Infants School, Gosport.
Lynn Kirk, Danielle’s teacher, said: ‘Danielle is an avid reader and her attitude to books is fantastic.
‘She changes her book every day and has a lot of support from her parents at home, which is essential.’
She added: ‘Reading is so important for a child’s development.’
Star Readers is a scheme at the Gosport school to reward one child in each of six classes every term for reading at least three times a week at home and making the best progress in reading.
