PUPILS from a junior school helped plant a tree in their school’s grounds.

It was donated by Waitrose to Bidbury Juniors and representatives from the Havant store went along to plant it.

Headteacher Julie Wood also got her hands dirty and helped with the planting.

To celebrate the fact that Waitrose has been part of the John Lewis Partnership for 75 years, stores across the country have been allocated a tree-planting budget

Staff at the stores chose where to plant the trees, picking good causes such as community projects, parks and school grounds.

The school is no strangers to tree planting.

Last year, pupils planted a Jubilee time capsule under an oak tree at Bidbury Mead, a park in Emsworth.
