YOUNGSTERS were encouraged to let their imaginations run wild during a workshop inspired by Honda’s slogan ‘The Power of Dreams’.

The group of nine to 13-year-old pupils at Horndean Technology College came up with bright ideas during a two-week workshop run by the School of Dreams team in partnership with Honda.

They were encouraged to explore personal career ambitions as well as analyse the ‘ideas’ greats such as Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa before embarking on some of their own ideas to make the world a better place.

One of the bright ideas was a DNA bank for dogs which would identify animals which leave mess in parks.

John Biggs, one of the School of Dreams facilitators, said: ‘It was a great event and we all had lots of fun sharing ideas and exploring ways to be creative.

‘I was particularly impressed with some students who were not that strong academically but really shone with their ideas and presentations.’

The team will be returning to the school in a month to award the best and most feasible idea with £500 to make the dream a reality.
