Our Read All About It campaign has been so successful that we don’t want it to come to an end.

Mark Waldron, editor of The News, says: ‘It was a great occasion for Portsmouth last year when we played host to celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of Dickens’ birth.

‘We very much enjoyed the day but wanted to mark the occasion with something longer term, which was the reason behind Read All About It.

‘It is great to see what a success it has been over the last 12 months as we have shared the learning initiatives of many of our schools, celebrated libraries and did what we could to really encourage a love of reading.

‘Although we said we would run the campaign for 12 months we can never do enough to support literacy so Read All About It will live on.’
